The above photograph was taken in the middle of a murder trial. I was discussing with my father whether to move for a mistrial because of destruction of evidence and lack of discovery in the middle of the trial.
In this photo Mr.Hills was pointing to an opinion Justice Kelly had written that Mr. Hills had been involved with from his days as a law clerk for Judge Harry A. Beach. Joining the conversation was Congressman Alexander Lipsey (current 9th circuit judge Kalamazoo).

Michael Hills is a graduate of Michigan State University School of Law where he graduated with a cum laude distinction. After graduation he was law clerk for Circuit Court Judge Harry A. Beach in Allegan county. After serving his year clerkship for Judge Beach Mr. Hills opened his own practice in Kalamazoo Michigan. Mr. Hills' practice is limited to criminal defense and has been since the first client walked through the door. Mr. Hills is a member in good standing in the Michigan Bar and the Federal Western District of Michigan.
Mr. Hills is an active member of the Kalamazoo Trial Lawyers Association and was the president from 2002 - 2004. Mr. Hills is also on the Kalamazoo Bar Association's Board and is an active member serving on several committees. Other memberships include National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan.
Mr. Hills is on the policy board for the Kalamazoo Drug Court and is an active participant in the planning sessions for the Drug Court in Kalamazoo.
Mr. Hills experience runs the gamet of the criminal spectrum. He has handled numerous murder cases as well as a multitude of minor in possession of alcohol charges and everything in between, including both state and federal charges. Mr. Hills has extensive experience handling cases before formal charges are filed and also through trial and through the appeals process.
