Superdrunk Violation

Regarding the Secretary of State’s policy/law regarding super drunk and/or high BAC drunk driving convictions in Michigan.

As we know if you have been convicted your driver’s license will be suspended for 45 days. After that 45 days you will be allowed to drive with an ignition interlock device in your vehicle. Should you have a positive indication on the ignition interlock for alcohol during the time frame of your restrictions the Secretary of State will suspend your license for an additional and like time frame. you will likely receive in the mail notice that your license is suspended for another year. But be aware that after the initial 45 days hard suspension i.e. with no driving, you will then be allowed to reinstall the ignition interlock for the remainder of the suspension.
